Description

Reporting to the Cost Manager responsible for estimating and budgeting.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Co-ordinate the Estimating function within Expressway Programme

Prepare cost estimates for Design, Construction and Supervision Consultants

Establishment and maintenance of a programme cost benchmarking database.

Review plans and procedures ready for implementation

Review and comment on bids and contract award recommendation reports

Estimating of value engineering options and lifecycle costs

Coordination with Package Managers, Consultants and Contractors

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

BSc in related subject or equivalent experience

MRICS or equivalent

10 years post graduate experience

Sound knowledge of all engineering and commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and utilities

Experienced user of Cost Estimating software, preferably Timberline

Experience in conceptual estimating using parametric estimating techniques

Capable of verifying unit rates and adjusting standard rates to reflect project conditions

Maintain the Estimating database with current commodity and labour rates

Prepare a Project Estimate report detailing assumptions, manpower curves, materials curves etc

Experienced user of MS Office, advanced MS Excel user and Primavera Contracts Manager

Previous experience in the Middle East an advantage

Fluent English both written and spoken
