Contracts Manager – Qatar

As the Contracts Manager based in the Head Office in West Bay – Doha.

You will be assisting the Commercial & Contracts Director handling Contractual & Commercial activities across projects from the Head Office. Overseeing and managing contract activities from compliance with contractual agreements, negotiating and drafting contracts, and resolving contract disputes.

In this role you will be handling real commercial and contractual disputes and issues for both live projects and legacies issues. You hold clear experience as a Contracts Engineer / Contracts Manager adding value across Buildings & Civil Engineering Projects.

You will be handling a range of responsibilities & duties from:

  • Drafting, reviewing and handling contracts with external stakeholder, sub-contractors and clients
  • Add value from project award to final account
  • Coordinate with internal teams from Legal, Finance, Projects & Administration / HR
  • Raise risks and contract reviews as you see fit. Propose solutions when needed that protect your employers best interests
  • Provide guidance and support to all departments on contractual related matters
  • Resolve contractual disputes in a urgent and timely manner
  • Management strong records and contractual administration

  • Clear strength within FIDIC contract experience
  • Strong communicator fluent in English , Italian is also desired as numerous members of SLT are based in Italy
  • Degree Educated – Quantity Surveyor, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10 Years relevant experience working within main contractors
  • Happy to roll your sleeves up and proactively manage and administer the contract . Pro active NOT reactive …
  • Solid contractual exposure to claims , delays & EOT’s

Snr Commercial Mgr

Duties:

  • Nurturing Stakeholder Relationships
  • Contract Administration – devise and implement the contract administration strategies
  • Change Management
  • Value Engineering – maximising value engineering opportunities on projects.
  • Procurement – including selecting tendering and procurement strategies.
  • Drafting Subcontracts (Based on Industry Standard Forms or In-House Standard Forms).
  • Setting up and maintaining bonds and insurances.
  • Cost, Revenue and Cash Flow Forecasting and Control.
  • Risk, Opportunities and Contingencies Management.
  • Internal Financial Reporting.
  • Managing/mentoring commercial teams on site.

Requirements

Ideally 5 years commercial/contracts project lead experience or exposure to running multiple projects simultaneously for a significant period of time.

Minimum 15 years Notable Main Contracting experience within the mixed use building projects sector.

Degree educated preferred.

Middle East exposure an advantage but not a necessity.

Excellent English Communication Skills
