We need this Project Director to have delivered ideally 2 Major Projects across the Civil Engineering sectors handling Rail, Trams or Metro work for the Civil Engineering Main Contractor (NOT rail systems).

This person will take the full operational control of all Live Projects under construction across Toronto. You will need to have a track record and knowledge of major Heavy Civil Engineering & Rail Projects to get the full support & respect of the Project Managers & Super-intendants out in the field.

This person will report into the Board and have direct responsibility for a team of 60-90 Permanent Staff. You will have full operational control for live projects . You will not be stretched across pre & post contract . The sole focus will be delivery teams out on site and ensuring that you have the best high performing teams hitting programs and key deadlines. You will be able to drive collaboration and teamwork in a non-aggressive manner .

Business has secured  work for the next 7 Years. The outlook of the economy is extremely buoyant and this is a key appointment to report into the President of Civil & Rail for the business.

The company will pay a base line salary ranging between $310-340,000 depending upon experience .

The group turns over in excess of $1.4 Billion but at present the spend in Canada represents 10% at 140 Million. The Board see this growing by 23-29% as a conservative figure over the next 12 months as they negotiate key awards.Your insight and expertise is needed on  North America to help support the 5 Year business plan as an integral part of the leadership team.

As the Group Commercial Director you will provide leadership and mentoring to your commercial department of quantity surveyors & procurement engineers. Your time will be spread across projects to ensure the financial success and strong performance of live projects whilst handling risk and disputes as and if they arise.

Mechanic that has worked on Heavy Duty Plant, Paving Machinery & Haulage Vehicles

If this person understands the aviation sector & airport projects such as runways , paving and airside work this will be a major advantage . Alternatively if this person has transferable skills from Major Motorways & Highways we can look at this.

Overview 

  • Implement maintenance program
  • Ensure machinery is in a good working order
  • Prepare list for maintenance and spare parts required
  • Responsible for stock control of equipment spares, consumables
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance and repairs works carried out in a safe manner
  • Night shift working within live airfield environment may be required

This person will report into the Operations Manager & Head of Plant. You must be a team player and have the right attitude to work. Motivating , communicating clearly and enjoying work is ESSENTIAL in this POST.

 

Your background 

  • At least 3-4 Years relevant experience
  • Worked as a Mechanic handling machinery and equipment
  • Asphalt Paving Experience
  • Welding & Fabrication Experience desired
  • Full clean driving license

What is essential before applying 

  • You understand that this is a Site Based Hands on role so this can often mean 50- 60 Hrs per week depending upon workload
