Labour & Training Mgr

Duties:

  • Organise and maintain Construction Division labour into Trades Gangs with appropriate Chargehand and manage ‘live’ labour / gang development records. Liaise closely with HR Department to monitor leave and labour attrition / resignations.
  • Deploy and allocate labour Gangs to Projects in accordance with the Project labour histogram / resource plan in close coordination with the Project Manager / Contracts Manager.
  • Plan, review and improve productivity outputs on each Project with the Project Manager and implement a s specific Project Labour Management Plan.
  • Responsibility to supervise Trades Managers (Carpentry / Steelfixing / Masonry) to review allocation, productivity and efficiency on Projects.
  • Liaise with Production Engineers on Projects to ensure data collection and productivity targets are in place and consistently updated.
  • Liaise with Training Centre manager to coordinate the trade training requirements of the Division labour force and ensure deployment of labour to / from the Training School as appropriate.
  • Liaise with Workmen Relations & Security Manager / Camp Bosses as appropriate to ensure efficient geographical allocation and transportation of labour to / from camp locations and Projects.
  • Periodically review labour resource levels with Divisional Manager / Operations / Contracts Managers and as appropriate arrange recruitment trips utilizing Trade Managers in conjunction with HR Department.

Qualifications:

  • Significant career experience (minimum 10+ years) of direct labour/trades management.
  • Vocational Qualification in trades discipline (e.g. NVQ).
  • Minimum 5 years GCC experience working for a recognized International Main Contractor.
  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related Construction discipline (desirable).
  • Completion of IOSH managing Safely (or similar safety qualification/experience).
  • Clear leadership/senior management experience.
  • Clear communicator able to interact at all levels from operative to senior management.
  • Organised and disciplined approach to resource planning/management.
  • UAE Driving License essential.

Project Commercial Manager

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be based on site in Dubai handling a  Major Mixed Use Development valued between 1.5-2 Billion AED.

This is a recent award of 2 so the urgency level to mobilize the right character is high for this 30 Month Program. You will have a dotted line into the Commercial Director in Head Office and working alongside the Project Director on site.

 

You will be responsible for your project commercial team and have full responsibility for the commercial performance, contractual administration & profitability. You will have a vast amount of experience letting sub-contracts, contractual administration, Cost Value Reports, handling claims both up and downstream whilst managing change when it occurs. You will understand the key importance of record keeping, documentation and issuing notices as per the FIDIC contract.

Duties:

Serving the requirements of the design department, by supporting the entire life cycle of project development.

Provide the required leadership to enable the project team to execute the design services to any assigned project effectively and efficiently.

Act as the Client’s key contact with the Company and is responsible for maintaining an effective and professional relationship with the Client.

Incumbent should manage their expectations and promote their involvement throughout all projects’ phases to the maximum level possible.

Establish the design goals, coordinate same with the concept designers, and assure that the goals are met.

Involved in analysis of Clients requirements in conceiving and developing architectural solutions to those requirements.

Performing in-depth completeness reviews of design submissions and analysis of design work produced by others to verify conformance to client requirements, regulations, codes and standards and economy and adequacy for construction.

Assist with hiring designers and other staff.

Seeks and encourages marketing involvement.

 

The candidate:

Equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

Min 8 years of experience as a designer, including concept and project management experience.

Experience in BIM/Revit Architecture.

Previous experience gained with a large consultancy firms and contractors in the gulf region would be highly beneficial.

Requires extensive experience in phases of design such as concept, detailed design, architecture, including substantial and varied experience involving responsible planning and design of complex projects within the Luxury Residential sector.

SQS / PQS – Interiors

Duties:

  • Prepare the Valuation report every month for each project till completion to keep track of all jobs completed (and their costs), prepare and submit the claim to the client / consultant for approval, receive the value certificate for the agreed value and forward the same to accounts for further action.
  • Prepare the payment certificates for sub-contractors once value certificates are received and based on the jobs completed, arrange to pay them in according to terms specified in their contracts.
  • Prepare cost reports clearly indicating the status of processed, received and pending payments, obtain approval from the CM and forward the same to Accounts.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and obtain the estimates of additional cost from the estimates department in case of a variation i.e. a change in approved drawing or any addition to the job in order to obtain approval of the client
  • Prepare final accounts once the job is completed, coordinate with the site engineer to confirm all works are costed, prepare and attach necessary supporting documents, obtain approval of the CM and receive a payment certificate from the client in order to enable the company to collect outstanding amount on due date.
  • Guide and motivate team members to enhance performance and produce quality work.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction related subject.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry with ideally 3 years spent in the UAE with an Interior Fit Out  Contractor.
  • This role would suit an up and coming PQS who has the attributes to step up into an SQS role in the near future.
  • Solid understanding and experience in implementing procurement strategies and forecast reporting
  • Candidates could be based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi

This role will navigate between on-site activities and Head office duties.

The Senior Planner will be responsible for day-to-day planning tasks ie Baseline program, EOT, resource and cost loading.

Ensure project milestones are met.

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders.

Oversee project delivery to high-quality standards within budget constraints.

The candidate:

Minimum 8 years Project Planning, Scheduling, and Management skills with Contractors in the UAE.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager on site outside Chichester you will be responsible for a specific section of work. You will be working with the sub-contractors on site to ensure that key stages are hit in line with the contract. You understand that you will have to work with the supply chain to ensure its success for all. Be that passes, deliveries, access or manpower to be successful.   You could be managing and driving success handling the following :

  • Snagging & aftercare on site
  • Piling & Bulk Earthworks
  • External works, drainage, landscaping , paving & carpark works
  • Steel Sequencing & Erection on site
  • Interior Fit Out & MEP Services
  • Façade & Roofing works

You are not expect to be an expert on even 50% of above. You are however expected to want to learn and take onboard information.

Note taking and site lessons on a daily basis. If you can work with the suppliers and ask the right questions then you will be staggered at how far you can go with common sense, sound questioning and a good attitude.

Cost Control & Optimization:

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:

The candidate:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in Procurement or Purchasing is advantageous.
  • 6+ years of experience in procurement in the construction or contracting industry.
  • Proficiency in procurement best practices, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
