Technical Dir (Structural)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Develop and implement structural design strategies for complex, large-scale construction projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international building codes and regulations, with a focus on UAE standards.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Implement and optimize the use of advanced structural engineering software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to maintain the highest standards of structural integrity and safety.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 20+ years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project management tools.
  • In-depth understanding of various structural systems, materials, and sustainable design principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international building codes and regulations, with specific expertise in UAE standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing client relationships.

Contracts Administrator (FIDIC Cert)

We are working with a Western Project Management Consultancy based in UAE who are looking to hire a Contracts Administrator to join the team.

The company:

Western managed PMC with a successful track record spanning 15+ years in the UAE. Project portfolio includes Residential, Hospitality, Retail, Commercial and Education.

Experience required:

  • 5 to 7 years of in-depth experience in contract administration with a focus on FIDIC contracts
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related field.
  • Western educated.
  • FIDIC certified; otherwise, substantial experience and thorough knowledge of FIDIC contract administration, terms, and procedures are necessary.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Will be based in the UAE (Dubai)

Salary package – 25-35K AED per month plus flight and medical.
