Commercial Mgr – Ireland

Duties:

  • Contract Administration – devise and implement the contract administration strategy on the Project including all contractual letter writing.
  • Measurement and valuation.
  • Change Management – managing the process of identification, notification, record keeping, submission of interim particulars and final variations/claims to include pricing and contractual narratives. Negotiating and agreeing variations/claims with the Client.
  • Procurement – including selecting tendering and procurement strategies for Subcontract Packages, with design a key consideration.
  • Drafting Subcontracts
  • Cost, Revenue and Cash Flow Forecasting and Control.
  • Risk, Opportunities and Contingencies Management.
  • Internal Financial Reporting.
  • Managing/mentoring Quantity Surveyors on site.

Requirements

Minimum 15 years experience within Main Contracting/Fit Out or Modular Construction.

A track record of managing QS teams on sites from a Head Office function is desired.

Degree educated preferred. Professional Memberships such as MRICS would be advantageous.

Candidates potentially looking for a move from Overseas back to Ireland would also be of interest.

The role will naturally involve travel and the successful candidate will need to be in Head Office in the West of Ireland fairly regularly.

Painting Mgr – Joinery Contractor

Job Summary:

The Joinery Painting Manager is responsible for managing the entire painting and finishing process within the joinery factory, ensuring high-quality standards, adherence to production timelines, and efficient use of resources. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and extensive knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment. The Joinery Painting Manager will oversee the painting team, coordinate with other departments, and implement quality control measures to achieve the desired finishes for all joinery products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Manage and supervise the painting team, providing clear guidance, training.
    • Ensure health and safety standards are met, especially in handling paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials.
    • Coordinate with the Joinery Operations Manager and to meet project schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Process Management:
    • Plan, schedule, and manage the painting and finishing processes to ensure timely completion of joinery projects.
    • Implement and oversee quality control procedures to achieve high-quality finishes and address any defects or rework efficiently.
    • Optimize the painting process for time and material efficiency, including overseeing proper mixing, application, and drying techniques.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all painted finishes meet the specified quality standards and customer requirements.
    • Conduct final inspections before delivery, identifying and correcting issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management:
    • Regular checks on the inventory of paint supplies and materials, ensuring stock availability without over-purchasing.
    • Oversee maintenance of painting equipment, booths, and spray guns, coordinating repairs and replacements as necessary.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with project managers, carpenters, and quality control staff to understand project specifications and finish requirements.
    • Communicate any potential delays, material needs, or issues to relevant teams, ensuring alignment and minimal disruption.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a joinery, painting, or finishing management role within a manufacturing or joinery environment.
    • Demonstrable experience in spray painting techniques and knowledge of finishing materials (e.g., lacquers, varnishes, stains).
  • Skills:
    • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to paint application, handling of hazardous materials, and general factory operations.
    • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring adherence to quality standards and efficient resource management.
