Initial Phase is worth $100 Million with 2 further phases to negotiate so this opportunity represents a minimum of 5 Years work in Hanoi – Vietnam.
The Role
Based on site working closely alongside the Project Manager with a dotted line into the Group Commercial Manager. You will be part of the senior management team taking a strategic focus to the success of this project on a daily basis.
The is a long standing client so we know the environment which is incredibly fair for all parties. If you have recorded change, documented and made a record then this client is more than reasonable.
You will hands on drive and coordinate all cost, contracts , procurement EOT’s and claims. You will form a strong working relationship with the Project Manager on site to ensure that schedule is hit and that the client seeking the progress they are seeking. This building is best described as technically advanced as some of the sub-contract packages will be coming from outside of the local market for Lifts, Clean Room Protection, MEP Packages, Fire Systems & Security.
Ideally you will have exposure to logistically challenging and tight construction locations as this is a postage stamp in a major city so all aspects need to be considered when delivering on such a site. Have you worked on a Mixed Use Development, High Rise or Commercial Development that has synergy with this project.
The final target cost will be north or $450 Million so you will be present through-out the full life cycle of the project on site.
What we need to see on a CV
- Degree Educated – Quantity Surveyor – British or Irish University as per the clients wish
- 7 Years Post Graduate experience Minimum
- RICS / CIOB Desired
- Experience of contract Law and administration. You will be handling more than just numbers so exposure to this is needed.
- Hands on experience in a MQS / Lead Commercial Manager capacity as No1 – 2 Years Minimum
- Clear experience working for Building Main Contractor – Tier 1 with a reputable experience
- Well-rounded experience handling procurement of sub-contractors, drafting contractual correspondence, change management, substantiating claims and entitlement. Can you protect the group’s financial position whilst hitting the margin the project was tendered at!
- Usual software packages from Word , Excel , PowerPoint, Adobe & Bluebeam
This person will have the right blend of hands on experience for a Tier 1 Main Contractor managing the commercial team with an eye for detail. Do you have the ownership and commercial acumen to make this project your sole focus.
You will understand elements from first principles but also have the oversight to coordinate project success. Yes the devil is in the detail and you will be across all aspects on site.
