Global Civil Engineering employer operating across 9 Countries and employing 125+ Permanent Staff. They have seen a 23% uplift in turnover & profitability in the past 3 Years and this is a strategic role for further employee development & success.

Reporting directly into the Chief Operations Officer you will be his go to for people, development and strategic planning of the workforce.

“Tim we want to implement one of the best graduate programs across the UK & Ireland. We want to take 10-12 Civil Engineers each year and put them through a graduate program. This will have them doing a placement with a design consultancy, working overseas on one of our projects for 3 Months, involved with senior management in bids and strategy through to working on site handing concrete mixes, temporary works and production. The aim will be to put these people through to chartership and help develop the future leaders and top performers within the group.

Our new People & Talent Manager will take this program from concept through to fully delivered. They can have a real impact and make this theirs. We will listen and help implement ideas to help set us apart for current employees and also future employers. We do an awful lot well but what could we do even BETTER”

 

This is a strategic investment as the client will be looking for you to take a grip and run with:

  • Personal Development plans for Junior, Mid Level & Senior Management
  • Create the new graduate program and form strong relationships with key universities
  • Review staff plans & appraisals
  • Handle communication with strategic recruitment partners to manage confidential search assignments
  • Look at staff retention schemes, bonus incentives and employee engagement

Role 

  • Reporting into the Director you will hands on do , drive and grow a team. He will see you add value by achieving key business initiatives
  • You will be given the financial backing and support of the board to make real change
  • If you have a good idea and it can make a positive impact it will be supported. There is no middle management between you and the board so you can and will make real decisions that have a positive impact upon how this group hires , develops and engages its people
  • How we review performance management and ensure the right skills are used in the rights departments & teams
  • We want this person to be based in the UK and be able to ideally start before the 1st of October 2024 Latest

What we are seeking on your CV & Career History

  • Clear experience as an HR/ Talent or People Lead
  • Ideally you have exposure and experience within the Built & Construction Environment
  • Solid HR Training & Strong Educational Qualifications
  • A career path that shows loyalty & success
  • Strong team work and leadership skills – You must get on with people !

 

They would like this person to be based near to the office just outside Chester – Cheshire however they are open to a remote proposal as long as the person is prepared to travel as needed to hit business needs. Please note this is a global business and has offices across the UK & Ireland with live projects crossing the country.

Part of your role will be to get the buy in from managers and stakeholders to help in all aspects of the role. You will form part of the senior management team so its important you are prepared to get out on site, meet people and build relationships . Certain aspects can be done behind a computer but not all !
